UK law firm Linklaters has won the legal advisory contract for the planned Al-Hamra 2 power plant in Ras al-Khaimah.
The Ras al-Khaimah Investment Authority (Rakia) is the client.
The plant will be located in the Al-Hamra Industrial Park in the southwest of the emirate and will serve several large factories in the area.
The plant will be gas-fired and has been allocated 20 million cubic feet of gas under a purchase agreement with the Ras al-Khaimah Gas Commission. This will be enough to fuel an 80MW open cycle power plant and a 120MW combined cycle facility.
The project will be tendered as an engineering, procurement and construction contract.
