Libyan oil firm opens prequalification for aircraft contract

Libya’s Mellitah Oil and Gas Company has invited contractors to prequalify for a contract covering the provision of aircraft.

The scope of the contract includes two aircraft, as well as crew and maintenance, to transport passengers between Mellitah’s oil fields and to the Libyan cities of Benghazi and Tripoli.

One aircraft will be based at Butiffel and will operate flights to Remal Field, Benghazi and Tripoli.

The second aircraft will be based at the El-Feel Field in the southwestern region of the desert region of Fezzan and operate flights to Sebha, the capital of Fezzan, the Sharara and Wafa oilfields and Tripoli.

The planes will be required to transport internal cargo and passengers and have seating capacity for 15 to 19 passengers.

The deadline for the prequalification documents is 6 December 2012.
