Luxury villa project being developed by Aldar is expected to be delivered by the end of 2017
Aldar Properties, Abu Dhabis biggest property developer by market capitalisation, has awarded an AED2bn ($545m) luxury villa construction contract to Dubais Arabtec Construction.
The contractor will construct 1,017 villas at West Yas, Aldars residential development at Yas Island, which are expected to be delivered at the end of 2017, Aldar said in a statement to Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange.
The contract represents the final package to be awarded for the West Yas development following the infrastructure, school, clubhouse and retail, and mosque packages, the company said.
West Yas is located along Yas Islands natural mangroves and will feature four and five-bedroom luxury villas, with prices starting from AED4m. The non-gated community will also include, two schools, one of which will be operated by Aldar Academies, a retail center, sports facilities among others, according to the statement.
