Mobilisation work on the project has already started
Saudi Aramco has appointed the local Al-Kifah Contracting for work on a housing project in south Dhahran.
Al-Kifah was awarded package 1 and 2 of the staff housing project, which will see the firm build 12 residential buildings comprising 312 apartments.
A company spokesperson told MEED the mobilisation work on the project has already started and the projected is expected to be completed by 2019.
Other related housing projects being developed by Saudi Aramco include the $1.5bn Fadhili Residential Camp. MEED reported in September last year that the local Nesma & Partners had been awarded the main construction contract for two of the three packages.
The final package is still being negotiated.
The scope of the work includes the construction of 2,000 villas, infrastructure work and all associated facilities.
The residential compound is being built for Aramco employees and is expected to be completed in 2020.
