
Manar mall expansion contract awarded to local firm

- Sun Engineering & Contracting awarded $63m contract
Dubai-based Sun Engineering & Contractors has signed a $63m contract with Ras al-Khaimah-based Al-Hamra Real Estate Development for expansion work on Manar shopping mall in Ras al-Khaimah.
The work, which is expected to start in March, will see the expansion opening in the third quarter of 2016.
The expansion work will increase the total leasable area from 30,000 to 60,000 square metres.
The expansion plans have been designed by US Cadiz International, while British firm Shankland Cox is serving as the lead consultant on the project.
Sun Engineering & Contractors has worked on a number of mall projects including the Sahara Mall and Mubarak Centre in Sharjah as well as the Jubail Market in Saudi Arabia.
