Local firm plans Dubai hotel

Dubai-based Omniyat has announced it plans to build a hotel and serviced apartment development in partnership with the UK’s Langham Hotels International.

Located in Burj Khalifa district, Langham Place Downtown Dubai will span a built up area of 207,519 square metres. The AED1bn project ($273m) five-star hotel and serviced apartments, will add a total of 438 units to the hospitality sector in Dubai upon completion in 2018.

Omniyat is also developing a 48-storey luxury residential tower and retail amenities in the the Dubai Maritime City area. The AED600m project is scheduled for completion in 2017.

The group also announced that local contractor Kele will build the project, with Al-Ghurair Contracting & Engineering as the specialist contractor for enabling and piling work.
