The local Galfar Engineering & Contracting has been awarded an engineering contract from BP for work on its Khazzan tight gas project in central Oman.
Galfar has been awarded the construction and installation work for the Gas Gathering System in phase 2 of BP Oman’s Khazzan gas project.
Galfar said the value of its contract $95m and the duration is 33 months.
The gas gathering system covers two fields, Khazzan and Ghazeer, which will be extended further with 200 kilometres of dispersed gas gathering systems being installed to transport multiphase gas-condensate from the well sites to the Khazzan Central Processing Facilty (CPF).
Galfar saw off competition from other bidders including local Special Technical Services and Al-Hassan Group, and India’s Larsen & Toubro.
