Mixed-use development includes a hotel and residential tower
Abu Dhabi’s Al-Maabar has received bids from eight contractors for the contract to build its St Regis hotel development in Amman.
The bidders are:
- Arabtec Construction (UAE)
- Arabian Construction Company (Lebanon)
- Consolidated Contractors Company (CCC) (Athens-based)
- Daewoo Engineering & Construction (South Korea)
- Al-Habtoor Leighton Group (UAE/Australia)
- Man Enterprises (Lebanon)
- Orascom Construction Industries (Egypt)
- Shapoorji Pallonji (India)
The first tower will be the five-star hotel, while the second will be a residential tower called The Residences. The total built-up area is 86,000 square metres. The site covers an area of 18,000 sq m. Al-Maabar expects the project to be completed in mid-2014.
The local office of KEO International Consultants is the programme manager. The development is owned by Al-Maabar’s local affiliate Al-Maabar Abdoun Real Estate Development Company.
Al-Maabar is also developing the $10bn Marsa Zayed real estate development at Aqaba.
