Biography: Majid Saif al-Ghurair is managing director of Dubai-based Gulf Extrusions, a subsidiary of Al-Ghurair Group, of which he is also the CEO.

His father, Saif, is the founder and chairman of the holding company. Gulf Extrusions is located next to the Dubal smelter in Jebel Ali, from where it sources the raw materials to manufacture aluminium products. The firm markets more than 12,000 profile designs for extrusions, covering industries such as architecture, automotive, transportation and scaffolding, among others.

Majid al-Ghurair is also president of the Burjuman Centre, president of the Middle East Council of Shopping Centres, chairman of Dubai-based investment bank Shuaa Capital and a member of the Arab Business Council. He is also managing director of Arabian Can Industry and Reef Mall in Dubai. He has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Al-Ain University in the UAE.
