Position: Chief executive officer, DMCC
Biography: Malcolm Wall Morris became chief executive officer of DMCC in 2009 and has more than 16 years’ experience in the physical commodity and exchange sectors. Morris began his career as a coffee trader based in Paris and London in 1994.
In January 2000, he became vice-president of business development for the UK-based Egreencoffee.com, where he pioneered the first online business-to-business for global coffee trading. Morris joined Euronext Liffe in 2001 as product manager for coffee and options and was later promoted to business development manager.
By 2005, he was promoted to head of business development of commodity products. Morris joined DMCC in 2007 as the chief executive officer of DGCX, which he managed to consolidate as the region’s main derivatives exchange for commodities and currencies.
