MAN set for Amal EOR work

05 November 2004
Germany's MANGHH is close to being awarded the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract on the estimated $45 million enhanced oil recovery (EOR) project at the Amal field in the northeast. The company has been invited to participate in clarification meetings with the client, Petro-Canada. A formal announcement is expected in mid-November.

The contract calls for the installation of three water injection units with associated low-pressure flowlines from three wells and three high-pressure booster pumps and the construction of a water treatment plant.

The engineering work and procurement of major components is expected to take five-six months, with construction expected to begin in the summer of 2005. The other bidding groups are: Italy's Bonatti, with Paris-based Technip; and Interbetonwith Iv-Oil & Gas, both of the Netherlands (MEED 27:08:04).
