Compared with the large international mining firms, Managem is a small player
Like all mining companies, Managem is exposed to the fluctuations in the global metals market. However, the company has mitigated some risks by diversifying operations across a range of metals and downstream products. It also has a portfolio of growing international mining projects.
Compared with the large international mining firms, Managem is a small player. But it is much larger than many of the Canadian and Australian companies now engaged in the sub-Saharan minerals exploration boom. Its regional experience and research in developing small concessions also offer it advantages.
After the capital increase in 2011, Managem can fund its expansion programme and provide technical support using its balance sheet. With last year’s solid improvement in financial performance, it seems Managem has found new momentum.
