Manazel receives bids for Material City residences

07 August 2008
The local Manazel Real Estate has received bids from four companies for the AED1.7bn ($463m) design and build contract for office blocks at Building Material City.

The bidders are the local/French joint venture of Fibrex and Thinet Emirates, Dhabi Contracting, Al Fara’a Group, and United Engineering Construction (Unec), all local.

The works involve the construction of 17, 20-storey buildings that will have a built-up area of 440,000 square metres, and a four-level podium with a built-up area of 240,000 sq m.

The package is the latest to be developed at Building Material City. The local/French joint venture of Fibrex and Thinet Emirates was recently given notice to proceed on the infrastructure and roads construction package. The same joint venture is already working on the first phase of the building works that involves the construction of a mall of 100,000 sq m and two office towers.

CRSS International, part of the US' Jacobs Group, is the project manager (MEED 2:6:08).
