Biography: Andrews as managing director of the group’s business activities in the Middle East, covers operations in the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

Andrews joins the company from Arabtec Holding – one of the leading construction services companies in the UAE – where he was CEO. With a career spanning over 34 years, Mark graduated in civil engineering from Imperial College London in 1980, and joined Chicago Bridge and Iron Company where he spent 9 years in a variety of senior project delivery roles, many based in the Middle East. 

Following a five-year period working in senior corporate planning and marketing roles in the chemicals and petroleum industry with BOC Group, he joined Balfour Beatty in their major projects division, before leading their utilities business.  He has also held the chief executive role in North America for Pirelli, before leading NG Bailey for 6 years as chief executive – one of the UK’s leading independent engineering, IT and facilities services businesses – where he played an instrumental role in the development of the specialist offsite manufacture division.

Andrews has an MBA from Cranfield in the UK and is a fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology and the Chartered Institute of Management. He has been awarded an OBE for services to apprenticeships, education and training in the construction industry.
