Valdez is co-chair of Dentons’ global mining and natural resources sector and chairs the firm’s global oil and gas group. In January 2014, she transferred to the Middle East to develop the firm’s energy strategy in the Middle East and Africa.

For the past 20 years, Valdez was the managing partner of the legacy SNR Denton’s Central Asia practice. Valdez founded the offices in Kazakhstan in 1993, in Uzbekistan in 1995 and the firm’s affiliation in Turkmenistan in 2009.

Valdez has advised clients on a range of energy and infrastructure projects, mergers and acquisitions, and regulatory and compliance matters. Her particular speciality is in oil and gas and mining.

For the past several years Valdez has been named in the oil and gas and business lawyer sections of Who’s Who Legal and has been identified as a top energy specialist by Expert Guides to the World’s Leading Lawyers - Best of the Best 2008 to 2010.
