Companies to set up research and development facilities in Masdar City
Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar) has signed a partnership agreement with France’s Schneider Electric, a specialist in energy management.
Under the deal, Schneider will provide energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions for Masdar City.
Together the companies will develop an innovation centre, which will include a research and development facility and a technical centre of excellence, which will assess design practices used in the city.
The partnership will also involve developing solutions for solar farms and the establishment of a Schneider Electric Innovation & Application Competency Centre, in collaboration with the Masdar Institute of Science & Technology.
Masdar will deliver the first building to be occupied in the city to the Masdar Institute in the middle of the year. The first students will move in by the third quarter.
