Completion of Al-Quoz health care facility planned for 2018

South Africa’s Mediclinic plans to build a new 150-bed hospital in Dubai.

Known as the Mediclinic Parkview Hospital, the health care facilitiy will be built in the Al-Quoz close to Sheikh Zayed road.

The project is scheduled for completion in 2018.

It will cover 500,000 square feet and cost AED700m ($191m). It will also include six operating theatres and in and out-patient services.

Mediclinic currently operates facilities in Dubai Health Care City and Garhoud. The new clinic will offer the same services for newer areas of Dubai.

Another new hospital is planned for the Dubai Silicon Oasis area. Contractors are currently preparing to submit prices for the contract to build the hospital and medical university, which will be run by Saudi Arabia’s Dr Soliman Fakeeh Hospital (DSFH). The new closing date is 2 May.

Known as University Hospital, the project, which is estimated to cost AED1bn ($272m) to build, will be constructed in two phases. The 300-bed teaching hospital is expected to be completed by mid-2017, followed by the medical college in 2019.
