Few industries have been hit as hard by the pandemic as tourism.

Since the outbreak of Covid-19 in the region in January 2020, airline fleets have been grounded, international travel has been suspended and jobs lost. Hotels have been closed and new developments mothballed.

Yet despite the devastation, hoteliers are adamant that the Middle East hospitality sector is on the cusp of a new boom.

The November 2021 edition of MEED Business Review takes an in-depth look at the regional tourism projects that are expected to capitalise on the post-pandemic urge to travel and enjoy new experiences again.

This month's 18-page Market Focus meanwhile offers an exclusive look at the UAE, where expo fever has taken hold.
