MEED names national winners in project awards

08 September 2025
A total of 87 National Winners will proceed to the second round of judging to name regional winners

MEED, the region’s leading business intelligence provider, has announced the national winners and finalists for the 15th edition of its annual MEED Projects Awards in association with Mashreq.

The awards celebrate and recognise the best projects completed in the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) region over the past 12 months, with 87 projects across 17 categories covering the energy, construction, industry, transport, power and water sectors selected as National Winners this year.

The award’s National Winners were selected after a judging process that assessed projects for their engineering excellence, technological innovation, sustainable practices and overall benefit to society.

The list of the 2025 MEED Project Awards National Winners is available on the awards website.

This year’s entries witnessed strong participation from public bodies and state-adjacent industry leaders in Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE, alongside the region’s leading contractors and architecture and engineering firms.

The National Winners will now proceed to a further round of judging by an independent panel of more than judges, who will gather to determine the region’s winning project in each of the 17 categories – to be announced at a gala awards reception on 19 November 2025 at the Marina Grand Hall, JW Marriott Hotel Marina, Dubai, UAE.

The awards ceremony will culminate in the announcement of the prestigious Project of the Year award, which in past years has included landmark projects such as the Umm Al-Hayman Wastewater Treatment Plant in Kuwait, Grand Egyptian Museum, ICD Brookfield Place in Dubai, the Louvre Abu Dhabi and the Haramain High-Speed Railway.

Ed James, head of content and research at MEED and GlobalData, noted: “We are excited to recognise the National Winner projects and their respective organisations. Congratulations to all who have contributed to raising the bar for innovation and excellence in the regional projects landscape.”

Arun Mathur, executive vice-president and global head of contracting finance at Mashreq, stated: “As a long-time partner of the MEED Project Awards, Mashreq is proud to recognise this year’s outstanding National Winners and honoured to support an awards process that celebrates the highest standards in design, engineering and construction, and most positive socio-economic impact, across the Mena region.”
