Chairman says there are no longer any thoughts on a merger
Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed al-Nehayan, chairman of Tamweel, has said that the merger with Islamic lender Amlak has likely been scrapped, Reuters has reported. “The idea of a merger has become unlikely,” he said. “The biggest shareholder in Tamweel is Dubai Islamic Bank and there are no longer any thoughts on a merger, at least not at the present moment.”
