The Abu Dhabi market ADX added 0.44% to reach 2,608.50. Shares of Islamic insurer Methaq Takaful rose 2.15%, closing at Dhs2.80. Methaq's Managing Director Abdullah Al-Maamarri said today in a statement to the ADX that there was "no specific reason" for the share's price increase. Methaq almost doubled on value during the last four weeks of trading. According to the World Takaful Report, published by Ernst and Young, the global takaful industry grew 31% in 2010, reaching $12bn. Abu Dhabi National Oil Company surged four percent to reach Dhs1.53. As in Dubai, sixteen shares advanced and seven declined.
