Metito wins Yas Island sewage treatment contract

Sharjah-based Metito has been awarded the contract to build a sewage treatment plant on Yas Island.

The contract calls for a plant with a capacity of 38,000 cubic metres-a-day.

The award is the latest infrastructure package to be awarded on the $40bn Yas Island project.

Japan’s Taisei Corporation is working on the island's infrastructure, and the local/Belgian Six Construct Abu Dhabi is working on the highway leading to the island from the Abu Dhabi-Dubai highway.

Local developer Aldar Properties is the client (MEED 15:1:08).
