Finnish group to deliver products for under-construction carbon black and delayed coker plant

Finland’s Metso has won a contract to supply control valves for Abu Dhabi’s under-construction carbon black and delayed coker plant at the refinery site in Ruwais.

The delivery will include “hundreds of Metso’s Neles Global control and on-off valves” the company said.

South Korea’s Samsung Engineering is carrying out the engineering procurement and construction (EPC) of the plant for the state-owned project owner Abu Dhabi Oil Refining Company (Takreer).

Samsung was awarded the $2.47bn contract in June 2012. The project is expected to be completed in December 2015.
