UAE-based hotel firms Jumeirah and Rotana are among a growing number of hotel chains looking to expand in India, Emirates Business has reported. Jumeirah finds the growth of the Indian hospitality industry encouraging and sees the country as an opportunity to continue growing its global brand presence, Jumeirah's Executive Chairman, Gerald Lawless told the newspaper. Meanwhile, Rotana is currently negotiating with property owners to establish its brand in India, according to Amal Harb, Associate Vice-President Marketing and Communications. 'India is one of the world's most dynamic economies and a country that offers significant prospects for the development of hotels,' Accor Asia-Pacific Chairman and CEO, Michael Issenberg, told the daily.
