The low-cost carrier market in the Middle East is likely to see consolidation in the next few years, Walter Prenzler, CEO of NAS Air told AME Info. 'In the next two to three years you will see who will survive and who will consolidate. This is part of the normal process of the airline industry,' he said. The most likely scenario is that smaller carriers will team up with government-backed airlines, as these are normally the 'ones who live longer', he said. If the financial crisis continues for an extended period the mergers could happen even sooner, he added.
