Biography: Mohammed al-Rais is senior vice-president and managing director of the Middle East project management group at US consultants Hill International. Al-Rais was previously vice-president, acting as Hill’s regional manager for its Abu Dhabi operations. Al-Rais is responsible for the strategic direction of the company in the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, and Oman. 

In June 2011, Hill International announced it had won contracts worth $1.5bn to provide project management services on the first phase of a $35bn affordable housing scheme in Iraq.

Al-Rais has a bachelor’s degree in city and regional planning from the University of Engineering and Technology in Pakistan and a master’s degree in project management from the University of Reading in the UK.
