More pedestrian bridges for Abu Dhabi and Dubai

24 December 2008

Future plans for more pedestrian bridges have been drawn up by the Abu Dhabi Municipality and the Road Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai. In an attempt to reduce the number of road accidents due to jay walking, the construction of 32 air-conditioned pedestrian crossings will commence in the capital during the first quarter of 2009 and be ready in 18 months. In Dubai, 19 pedestrian crossings will be completed by the end of the year.
