Office National de l’Electricite sets March date for proposals
Morocco’s Office National de l’Electricite has delayed the bid deadline for the planned Safi independent power project (IPP) to 12 March.
Developers had been due to submit their proposals for the 1,320MW coal-fired plant on 31 October.
In mid May, the client decided to move the proposed plant to a location 7 kilometres away from the original site, following significant changes to the scope of the project (MEED 22:5:09).
Under its original plan, the utility had assumed responsibility for the supply of coal feedstock and the construction of coal-handling facilities at Safi port. In March, the utility shifted this responsibility onto the developer.
