Contract covers engineering consultancy for future projects in the emirate’s central and western region
The UK’s Mott MacDonald has been selected to provide engineering consultancy services for electricity transmission projects in Abu Dhabi.
Abu Dhabi Distribution Company (ADDC) made the appointment for projects in the region’s the central and western regional block. The contract is worth around $60 million.
Mott MacDonald’s contract is one of three consultancy awards made by ADDC after it decided to launch a new approach to tendering advisory work for transmission projects.
The company decided to group together transmission projects according to location and tender the engineering consultancy work for all future transmission projects to be built in that area as a single package. Each defined region has been tendered as a separate contract.
By adopting this approach instead of a project-by-project basis, ADDC hopes to increase the speed at which electricity transmission projects are brought online.
