Mott to power Saadiyat island

The UK's Mott MacDonald has confirmed its appointment as consultant for the entire power and water distribution system on the $27,000 Saadiyat island development.
The UK's Mott MacDonald has confirmed its appointment as consultant for the entire power and water distribution system on the $27,000 Saadiyat island development.

The client is Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority (ADWEA).The project involves the construction of a 400/132/22-kV grid station, which is already out to tender, and five 132/22-kV substations with 400-kV overhead line circuits and 22-kV load centres. The island's water distribution system will be built in two phases and comprise 60 kilometres of pipelines as well as the associated urban water distribution network (MEED 14:7:06). The new power and water distribution systems will support the development of the island into a major tourism and leisure destination by Tourism Development & Investment Company (TDIC), a wholly owned subsidiary of Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA).
