South Africa's Murray & Roberts Steel plans to open a rebar plant in Dubai Industrial city in May, the company’s chief executive officer Rob Noonan told MEED’s Middle East Steel 2008 conference in Dubai on 13 October.
The plant covers 20,000 square metres and will have capacity of 300,000 tonnes a year.
Murray & Roberts’ existing rebar plant in Sharjah produces 150,000 tonnes a year.
