Fourteen high pressure flares to be built across Kuwait
The local Mushrif Trading & Contracting Company has submitted the lowest price for a deal to build fourteen high pressure flares in the south and east of Kuwait worth almost $50m.
Bids were submitted by 13 local firms to state-upstream operator, Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) on 11 November. The tender process has been overseen by Kuwait’s Central Tenders Committee (CTC).
Mushrif’s price of KD13.9m ($49.4m) came in lowest, followed by a KD16.7m ($59.3m) proposal from Al-Meer Technical Services.
The scheme involves the design, detailed engineering, procurement and construction of high pressure smokeless pit flares at fourteen of KOC’s crude oil gathering centres across the south and east of the country. It also includes the installation of a 4.5 kilometre long 30-inch pipeline as well as civil and structural works.
The project is expected to be completed within two years of a contract award.
Mushrif was approved for a $103m deal from the Ministry of Public Works in October for the construction and maintenance of roads and intersections for serving Jaber al-Ahmed City.
