Nakheel appoints consultant for 20 towers

Buildings will be constructed at Deira Islands

Local developer Nakheel has appointed US-based construction Ae7 for the design, engineering and construction supervision of the 20 towers it plans to build at its Deira Islands development.

Located along Deira Islands Boulevard, The AED5bn ($1.4bn) project have 16 residential buildings, two hotels and two serviced apartment blocks.

Deira Islands Boulevard will transform the skyline at Dubai’s newest living and leisure hotspot, and play a key role in achieving the emirate’s 2021 tourism vision.

The construction work is expected to be tendered during the first quarter of 2017 and completion is scheduled for the second quarter of 2020.

On 3 September Nakheel said it has appointed six Dubai-based engineering and architectural consultants for the design and construction supervision of its AED7.5bn ($2bn) Jebel Ali Gardens development.

The appointed consultants are:

  • MEECON (Middle East Engineering Consultants)
  • Golden Square Engineering
  • Eng. Adnan Saffarini Office
  • Arif & Bintoak Consulting Architects & Engineers
  • Design Centre Architects & Engineers Consultants
  • Bel-Yoahah Architectural & Engineering Consultants

The project, which will be built in the Dubai Waterfront area to the south of Jebel Ali Free Zone, includes 42 towers that have been designed to house 40,000 people in nearly 10,000 apartments. The units will be part of Nakheel’s leasing portfolio.
