Nakheel signs second contract with Thai hotel operator
Dubai developer Nakheel has signed a management agreement with Thailands Minor Hotel Group for a new 372-room hotel at Ibn Battuta Mall.
The developer signed a letter of intent with the hospitality company in Bangkok, which will see the hotel managed by Minors Avani Hotels and Resorts brand, according to a company statement.
The new 14-storey hotel, which will become the second hotel to be part of Ibn Battuta Mall, will have direct access to the mall and a link to the Dubai Metro.
The agreement represents the second collaboration between Nakheel and Minor Hotel Group in five months. In September last year, the two companies announced a planned joint venture for a 500-room Avani beachfront resort at Deira Islands, Nakheels 15,000 square km coastal development in Dubai.
Avani Ibn Battuta will form part of Nakheels 436,644-square-metre expansion to Ibn Battuta Mall, which will create an additional 71,164 sq m of shopping, dining and entertainment space.
