Nasa Multiplex wins more Dubai Marina work

The local/Australian Nasa Multiplexis understood to have been awarded anestimated AED 450 million ($123 million) contract to build a second batch of buildings on the Dubai Marina project (MEED 21:3:03; 7:3:03).

The contract - known as 7WX - covers the construction of six towers ranging between 25 and 40 storeys, a five-level concrete podium, two-level underground car park and associated facilities. The work is expected to take about two years to complete and will be carried out on a design-build basis.

A team of Nasa Multiplex and the UK/local Al-Futtaim Tarmac, which declined to bid for 7WX, is carrying out work on the first batch of six towers on the scheme under a AED 545 million ($148 million) contract awarded in mid-late 2001 (MEED 20:7:01).

The project manager is EC Harriswith Mace International, both of the UK. Emaar Properties is the client.
