Biography Nasser Ali Abdullah Mawlawi joined Qatar’s Ashghal as acting managing director before taking up his current position as president.
Prior to his role with Ashghal, Al-Mawlawi worked for Barwa, a Qatari real-estate investor and developer. He joined the company in June 2007 as chief executive officer of the Barwa City project.
Between 2003-07, Al-Mawlawi was chief executive officer of facilities and project management for the Asian Games Doha 2006. In this role, he was responsible for managing operations at all facilities for the games.
Al-Mawlawi graduated with a degree in electrical engineering from the US’ Boston University in 1987. The following year, he joined the engineering and works unit of the Qatari Armed Forces as an engineer officer and served in the army until 2003, rising to the rank of colonel engineer.
