Saudi utility set to award Medina and Dammam packages in 2011
Saudi Arabia’s National Water Company (NWC) has told the prequalified bidders on two water management contracts that it plans to issue requests for proposals in September 2010 and May 2011.
The first private-partnership deal will cover water networks in Medina. NWC intends to issue the request for proposals in September, with bids due to be submitted in November. The utility expects to award the contract in January 2011.
A second contract will cover greater Dammam, including Khobar. NWC will issue the request for proposals in May 2011. The deadline for bids is scheduled for August 2011 and an award is due in October that year.
A similar contract for Mecca and Taif is out to bid, with a deadline of 1 March. Prequalified bidders must submit a letter confirming their intention to bid by 18 January.
