Water company will supply 125,000 cubic metres a day of treated effluent

Saudi Arabia’s National Water Company (NWC) will supply 125,000 cubic metres a day (cm/d) of treated sewage effluent (TSE) to the Waad al-Shamal industrial development.

Speaking at MEED’s Mena Water 2014 conference in Abu Dhabi on 29 September, Mohammed Saad al-Qahtani, projects manager for NWC, said the recent agreement would involve the company supplying 125,000 cm/d of TSE by 2030. The TSE will be supplied from three different locations in the north of the country.

The planned project will involve the construction of three pipelines from different locations in the north to supply TSE to the Waad al-Shamal scheme. The total length of pipeline required for the project will reach an estimated 460 kilometres.
