Position: Vice-president of development, Shell Integrated Gas
Biography: Neil Gilmour joined Shell International in 1986 and over the years has worked in its exploration, petroleum engineering, new ventures, commercial, mergers and acquisitions, and liquefied natural gas (LNG) and integrated gas divisions. He spent 10 years in technical roles, starting as a geophysicist and then leading large technical projects and teams, before taking on commercial leadership roles.
In 2008-09, he led the PetroChina Strategic Alliance, and later the upstream international restructuring team in 2009. Between 2010 and 2012, he headed Shells floating LNG programme. In 2013, he took on his current role in Shells new integrated gas organisation, where he oversees new business development and innovation programmes.
Gilmour has a bachelor of science degree in geology from Glasgow University and a masters of science in exploration geophysics from Leeds University, both in the UK.
