Emirates Calcium Carbonate Factory (ECCF) is planning to build a new plant in Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (Kizad) to produce calcium carbonate products for oilfield industries in the UAE and wider region.

ACCF signed a 50-year agreement with Kizad for the allocation of a 20,000-square-metre plot in the free zone, located half way between the cities of Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

Calcium carbonate can also be used in steel production, the manufacturing of paper, paints and dyes, water and industrial waste treatment, sugar extraction and agriculture.
