Local-Swedish-Japanese consortium to develop fields producing 14,981 barrels a day in November
Oman’s Ministry of Oil & Gas has approved an oil field development plan for the onshore Blocks 3 and 4 to be carried out by a consortium of local and international companies.
Oman-based CC Energy Development (CCED), Sweden’s Tethys Oil and Japanese group Mitsui have been awarded a 30-year production-sharing agreement from the first discoveries at the blocks on 20 July 2010.
Test production at the Farha South field in Block 3 and the Saiwan East field in Block 4 amounted to 449,425 barrels of oil in November, giving an average daily output of 14,981 barrels a day (b/d), according to Tethys Oil.
The consortium recently completed early permanent production systems on the field.
CCED holds a 50 per cent share of the assets located in central Oman, with Tethys Oil holding 30 per cent and Mitsui owning 20 per cent.
