Oman contract covers passenger boarding bridges
China’s CIMC-TianDa Airport Support has won the contract to provide passenger boarding bridges at both Muscat and Salalah International airports.
Under the deal, the company will provide and install 48 passenger boarding bridges, 40 of which will be installed at Muscat with the remaining eight being installed at Salalah. Oman’s Transport & Communications Ministry is the client on both airport projects. The ministry is also developing four domestic airports, which are Adam, Duqm, Sohar and Ras al-Hadd.
Bids for package three at Sohar, which covers the construction of a new passenger terminal and control tower, were submitted on 9 January (MEED 10:1:12). The award of package three at the other three airports has been put on hold.
