ILF Consulting Engineers to advise on 50MW renewables project
Omans Rural Area Electricity Company (Raeco) has awarded a contract for consulting and engineering services on the Harweel wind farm to Austrias ILF Consulting Engineers.
It will involve up to 25 turbines, with a capacity of 50MW, as well as a 132kV overhead transmission line.
Prequalification for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract took place in late 2014, and a tender is expected in 2015.
The facility is scheduled to come online in May 2017, and will be the first utility-scale wind farm in the GCC and the first renewables project in Oman.
