Oman Power & Water Procurement Company is evaluating proposals for the retendered technical advisory contract on the Barka 3 independent water and power project (IWPP).
Oman Power & Water Procurement Company is evaluating proposals for the retendered technical advisory contract on the Barka 3 independent water and power project (IWPP).

It is also soon to issue a request for proposals for the Salalah IWPP.

Germany's Fichtner, Swiss-based Electrowatt Engineering Services and Australia's Sinclair Knight Merz are bidding on the Barka project, which involves a 700-MW, 26-million-gallon-a-day plant.

Eight companies are expected to bid in October for the

Salalah scheme.

The Salalah plant will have capacity of 400 MW and 15 million g/d of desalination

(MEED 3:8:07).
