Oman Power & Water Procurement Company (OPWP) has invited consultants to submit proposals for a contract to provide a water recirculation study for planned new desalination capacity in the sultanate.
OPWP has invited consultants to submit proposals by 22 April for the tender.
The water recirculation study will focus on additional capacity expected to come online from two proposed new independent water projects (IWPs).
The first of these is the planned 300,000 cubic metres a day (cm/d) Ghubrah 3 IWP, for which developers were recently invited to submit prequalification documents.
The second of these is a planned Barka 5 IWP, which is expected to have a capacity of 100,000 cm/d.
