Work will involve building flood protection and recharge dam
Omans Ministry of Regional Municipalities & Water Resources has invited contractors to submit bids for the contract to build a flood protection and recharge dam at Wadi Ghumdah in the Bukha-Musandam governorate.
Contractors have until 10 November to submit bids for the construction contract.
The project is the latest in a number of schemes that Oman is pushing ahead with to boost its water infrastructure.
The Public Authority for Electricity & Water (PAEW) recently invited contractors to submit bids for the deal to build a water distribution network for the wilayat of Bidbid.
Earlier in 2014, PAEW announced it is planning to spend about RO580m ($1.5bn) on new water supply schemes over the next five years until 2019. The majority of the projects will transport water from existing and planned desalination plants to urban and outlying rural areas.
