Dutch Docklands appointed as consultant for concept and infrastructure work at island scheme in Dubai
Kuwaits Oqyana Real Estate has signed a deal with Netherlands-based consultancy Dutch Docklands to create a series of private island villas as part of the Oqyana World First development.
The development involves building a collection of artificial islands forming the continent of Australasia as part of The World development off the coast of Dubai.
Oqyana World First is the developers flagship project and comprises luxury villas with private beachfronts, contemporary seaside apartments and hospitality and retail units.
The deal will see Dutch Docklands create a series of private islands which will house just one villa each.
Oqyana is also behind the Water Garden City project in Bahrain, which will consist of 2.2 million square metres of residential hotels, a beach park and marina, schools, and commercial, leisure and retail facilities. A new causeway will also be developed to support transport connections to Bahrain International airport
