PAKISTAN: FiatAvio invites bids for Quetta power project

Italy's FlatAvio has invited bids for three further contracts for the 140-MW power plant it is building at Quetta. in Baluchistan.

FiatAvio is the engineering, procurement and construction contractor for the plant, which is being developed by Habibullah Coastal Power Company, a joint venture between Coastal Power Company of the US and the local Habibullah Group.

The contracts are for the supply and delivery of four transformers; the supply, delivery, erection and commissioning of a 132-kV switchyard; and the supply and delivery of five storage tanks. Bids are due to be submitted by 10 October. Bids for the supply of high-voltage generators are due at the beginning of September (MEED 9:8:96).

Habibullah Coastal Power has applied for funding for the project from the World Bank through the government's Long Term Credit Fund, administered by the National Development Finance Corporation (see Tenders).
