Pakistan State Oil (PSO) has approved plans to build a 135-kilometre pipeline from Port Qassim to Jamshoro. A consultant for the estimated $100 million project is expected to be appointed by the end of the year. The pipeline will have an annual capacity of 2.5 million tonnes and will be used to transport furnace oil from PSO's storage terminal at Port Qassim to supply power stations.
The design work is expected to be finished by April 1995, but no completion date for the construction work has been given.
