Park Place tower project goes for tender

Bids have been invited by 8 August for the main package on the Park Place residential tower project in Dubai. About seven contractors are prequalified to bid for the estimated $75 million-80 million contract, which involves the construction of a 60-storey tower next to Sheikh Zayed highway (MEED 19:9:03).

Prequalifiers are understood to include: the local Khansaheb Civil Engineering; a joint venture of Lebanon's Arabian Construction Companyand the UK's Higgs & Hill; the local/Australian Nasa Multiplex; the local/South African joint venture of Al-Habtoor Engineering Enterprisesand Murray & Roberts Contractors (Middle East); South Korea's Samsung Corporationin joint venture with the local Al-Hamed Development & Construction; Australia's Groconwith Dubai Civil Engineering; and a joint venture of the local Bu Haleeba Contractingand the local/South African Al-Jaber Grinaker LTA (Alec).

The contract covers sub- and superstructure work, mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) and finishes for the tower, which will have a gross floor area of about 75,000 square metres, and an associated multi-storey car park.

The project manager on the development is Australia's Clifton Coney Stevensand the design architect is Cox Architecture, also of Australia. The client is a local investor.
